Second Asia-Europe Film Festival
On the occasion of the ninth Asia-Europe Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (FMM9) to be held in Ha Noi on 25th - 26th May 2009, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Ministry of Foreign Affairs are cordially holding the second Asia-Europe Film Festival as a warm welcome to the Meeting.

The Film Festival is to take place at the National Cinema Center, 87 Lang Ha Street, Ha Noi from 15th May to 22nd May 2009.

The second Asia-Europe Film Festival will be officially open at 19.30 on 15th May 2009.

The Film Festival aims to promote the friendly relationship among Asian and European peoples, increase the mutual understanding among Asia - Europe nations and peoples through the movies .

In the Film Festival, there are 16 movies from 15 countries including: Thailand, Hungary, Rumania, Finland, Belgium, Austria, Poland, Denmark, Germany, Japan, Spain, Latvia, Cambodia, France, and Vietnam (2 movies from Rumania). Vietnam joins the festival with the movie “Dung dot” (Don’t burn) directed by Dang Nhat Minh.

The movies have diversified topics and contents about social psychology, children, history, romance, cultural traditions and so on. Many films have won international or national awards.
 
As an international cultural event, the second Asia-Europe Film Festival not only contributes to the success of the ninth Asia-Europe Foreign Ministers’ Meeting but also promotes images of nations, peoples and cultural identities of Asia - Europe countries, including Vietnam./.
